Description
Built between 1717 to 1725, on an island in the river Derwent, pioneering the water powered production of high quality silk thread in Britain,
and regarded as one of the earliest factories.
Displays cover the history of the silk industry on the site but also includes other Derbyshire industries.
Large Rolls-Royce engine collection.
