The Mill is on the A6 between Matlock and Bakewell, in the village of Rowsley, Description An "automated" Victorian mill, powered by water turbines, that produced flour not by traditional millstones, but by modern method of precision roller milling. The unique early roller milling machinery extends over four floors. Also machinery for producing animal feed. Interpretative displays and models Facilities The mill shop is open for a range of flour, biscuits and recipes. The site also has a cafe, craft shop, glass blower, blacksmith, ceramic shop and picture gallery.(free admission to these) A free car park adjoins the mill with the entrance from Woodhouse Lane. Special facilities exist for school visits, project days.
